Four Leaf Farm

Four Leaf Farm is a chemical-free farm in Rougemont, North Carolina, a small town 15 miles north of Durham. They intensively farm a wide variety of vegetables on less than 2 acres with a focus on sustainability, fullness of flavor and healthfulness. They also grow a number of ornamental and vegetable plants for your home and garden. You can find their fresh produce on the menus of local restaurants including Mateo, Gocciolina, and Panciuto, and of course, every Saturday at the Durham Farmers' Market.

Helga is a Dane from a family of small farmers, and Tim, a native Californian who moved to the area to study Botany at Duke. Together they started Four Leaf Farm in 1979 on a rental property in Durham County. A few years later they moved the farm to its current location in Rougemont. They then gave up farming for several years to raise their two children. In 2000, Helga says, "our passion caught up with us again," and they've been selling their plants and vegetables at the Durham Farmers' Market since 2002.

Four Leaf Farm does a small CSA with boxes available for pick-up at the DFM, and can also do special orders of wheat grass also to be picked up at the DFM. E-mail if interested.
