History: Chocolate inspires. It is a declaration of love and an offering of peace. It is celebration and condolence. Chocolate awakens the poetic in people. It has been used as currency, drunk by kings and revered by ancient and modern cultures alike. Chocolate knows no borders.

Dolly Mama handmade chocolates are crafted using local, hormone-free cream and pure, fresh ingredients; no artificial ingredients are ever used. Each chocolate is unique and hand-crafted: like snowflakes, no two are alike.

Dolly Marcarelli moved to Durham from Santa Fe, New Mexico three years ago. She has a degree in Marine Biology and a passion for the culinary arts, kindled by working with exceptional chefs for over 20 years. In chocolate, she has found the perfect alchemy of art, science, tradition and craft that continually inspires. A world traveler, it was a trip to Italy that crystallized how important the presence of beauty is in our everyday lives. The mission statement of Dolly Mama Handmade Chocolates reflects that philosophy: Creating beauty in life through chocolate. And, they are delicious, too!
