History: My earliest art experiences were in drawing and oil painting. Photography became a serious love after college when I was able to afford a decent camera. I’ve been taking pictures ever since for myself, friends and family. Six years ago, after retiring from teaching. I had the time and energy to join the DFM and share my photos with the community.

I take photos of everything-nature, travel, architecture, pets and whimsy being of special interest. An enjoyable task I have set for myself is to document the historic, charming, and funky icons of the Triangle area. Rapid change has affected our local landscape but photographs are a way to turn the clock back and kindle fond memories.

This past year I’ve gone back to my roots and joined my love of painting with photography by pushing pixels around to create photographs that look like paintings. These are part of my “Fantasy” series which I plan to expand.

I do take special orders and free lance assignments.

My work can be seen and/or purchased through my website, at the Durham Farmers’ Market, Saturdays from 8 AM to 12 Noon April through November and at The Regulator Bookstore on Ninth Street in Durham.
