Bonlee Grown Farm will be back this Saturday with our geraniums on sale (1 for $10, 3 for $25 ).

Amy’s also been making lots of pickles this past week, plus some jams like this season’s strawberries, so come and get ‘em!

CHAPEL HILL CREAMERY

We are so happy with the grass in our new perennial pasture! When the cows have their heads down to graze or a mouthful of lush grass, that’s a success. The carotene in the grass makes the cheese we’re making extra golden in color. Look at our Facebook for pictures of the burn that promotes this pasture.

Tomatoes are coming in and we have Fresh Mozzarella cheese in the half pound ball size for Caprese salad, as well as Ciliegine (cherry size) to eat as a snack or for green salads.

Our other fresh cheese is tangy Dairyland Farmers; use it like feta in salads or serve with hot pepper jelly. Also available are savory Hickory Grove, Hot Farmers, Dill Farmers, New Moon, aged Calvander, and soft Danziger. We are low on Carolina Moon as we are taking a large order of our cheese to Pinehurst for the U.S Open. LAKAY FARM

LaKay is a poultry farm located in Louisburg, North Carolina. Dulime and Myrlande are Haitian farmers going back to their roots, growing fresh vegetables and fruits while raising registered Nubian and Nigerian Dwarf goats holistically. As the season begins to wind down, our pesticide-free and naturally grown strawberries will be available in very limited quantities.

We will continue to have a selection of our plants for your home gardens including tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, vine crops, herbs and flowers, so the time is now for planting your garden before the heat of summer returns. It is helpful to bring a box to transport your garden plants home safely.

STONEY MOUNTAIN FARM

Stoney Mountain Farm raises their lambs the old fashioned way, allowing their sheep to graze open pastures. They are passionate about animal welfare and sustainability, and strive to be good stewards of the land. Their grazing system helps to keep the sheep on fresh grass year-round while helping to keep the soil healthy. 

Olga and John raise Navajo Churro sheep, which Slow Food named to it’s Ark of Taste based on the valuable traits of the breed. Navajo Churro genetics are smaller framed yet produce tender, lean, distinctive sweet flavored meat. The breed is endangered because they won’t meet the demands of commodity meats. They also raise Dorset and Corriedale sheep. They are proud to offer quality products from healthy, happy sheep.
