PARKING AND STREET INFORMATION

The market is located at 501 Foster Street in The Pavilion at Durham Central Park. 

Parking can be found on the street around the market, in the parking lot on the corner of Hunt and Foster Street (across from Rise Durham and Urban Durham Realty), in the Ballpark Parking Lot on Corporation Street, and in the Measurement Inc. lot, 423 Morris Street (look for the Durham Farmers' Market parking sign). Handicapped parking is available near the corner of Hunt and Foster as detailed in the map above.

There are also public parking lots along Foster Street and on Morgan Street near the Carolina Theatre.

Please note that the Durham Farmers' Market does not allow dogs or other pets in the market area during market hours. Service animals are exempt from this rule. Leashed pets are welcome elsewhere throughout Durham Central Park.

Following time-honored French farmstead techniques, Celebrity Dairy transforms goat’s milk into fresh goat cheese, or chΓ¨vre. Simply put, Celebrity Dairy’s chΓ¨vre is an honest expression of owners Brit and Flemming, of their farm, and of their place in time.

Like many specialty farm products, their cheese is fragile, and suffers from the abuses of shipping. THE SPICY HERMIT


The Spicy Hermit makes delicious varieties of gluten-free, vegan, and preservative-free kimchi, using local produce from neighboring farms (some of them at the market!).  Kimchi is a traditional Korean fermented dish, usually made with cabbages, though we like to experiment and use other seasonal, local vegetables, such as collard greens or kohlrabi.

STONEY MOUNTAIN FARM

Stoney Mountain Farm raises their lambs the old fashioned way, allowing their sheep to graze open pastures. They are passionate about animal welfare and sustainability, and strive to be good stewards of the land.  Their grazing system helps to keep the sheep on fresh grass year-round while helping to keep the soil healthy.  

Olga and John raise Navajo Churro sheep, which Slow Food named to it’s Ark of Taste based on the valuable traits of the breed. Navajo Churro genetics are smaller framed yet produce tender, lean, distinctive sweet flavored meat. The breed is endangered because they won’t meet the demands of commodity meats. They also raise Dorset and Corriedale sheep. They are proud to offer quality products from healthy, happy sheep.

Hello hello! We had an exciting time last week at the market, selling out of our Elderberry Syrup for the first time this season. 

If you missed out, don’t worry - Rose and I spent the day Wednesday making a new batch (see above for a pic) and will have it ready for this weekend

Our Syrup is made with USDA-certified organic elderberry, local honey from King Cobra Apiary, cinnamon, cloves, and reishi mushroom. 

This time we bumped up the spices slightly and decreased the sweetness by a hair – and believe we have reached perfection.

In other news, our new website is live, where you can find single herb tinctures and herbal formulations, as well as new products like Breast Oil and Juicy Joints Salve, and other specialty products. HOMEBUCHA KOMBUCHA

At Homebucha, we’re crafting a new wave of ancient drinks. Kombucha is a fizzy fermented tea that has been consumed for thousands of years for its probiotic benefits. We believe kombucha can be as delicious as it is healthy.

CHAPEL HILL CREAMERY

Carolina Moon (pictured above) is the perfect appetizer or hostess gift. Bring to room temperature and serve it with crackers or baguette plus fruit, nuts, or a mild chutney or jam. It is similar to a Camembert, not too strong, with a rich, mushroom flavor and a smooth, creamy texture. 

We will also have Danziger, Dairyland Famers, Hot Farmers, Dill Farmers, New Moon, and a 6-month aged Calvander. Pick up a couple of different cheeses for a charcuterie board, or choose a cheese for a quiche, tacos, or grate our Calvander on roasted cauliflower. We're happy to give serving suggestions.

Our Jersey herd is pasture based with rotational grazing and  is Animal Welfare Approved. See you Saturday and Happy Thanksgiving.

LIL’ FARM

Howdy Doody from Lil' Farm! This long fall has brought extra bounty. We have been replanting and prepping any space we can squeeze more veggies for the winter as we will be at the Farmer's Market all Winter long. Our stand this coming weekend will be overflowing with!

Scallions, Broccoli, Gailan, Radicchio ( castel franco and Indigo), Beautiful Gem and Salanova Lettuce Heads, Dino Kale, Siberian Kale, Chard, Collards, Napa Cabbage, Daikon, Radishes, Fennel, Hakurai Turnips, Purple Top Turnips, Escarole, Dandelion, Mustard Mix, Salad Mix, Arugula, Broccoli Leaf, Cabbage, and Sweet Potatoes to name a few. BONLEE GROWN FARM

We are looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday from 9am-12pm! Amy’s been hard at work making everyone’s favorite jams, pickles, relishes, and pepper jellies. New this week will be sauerkraut, finally done fermenting after six weeks!

We will also have eggs from our happy hens, and (if the weather isn’t too chilly) we will have bedding plants and houseplants to brighten up your home.
