PARKING AND STREET INFORMATION

The market is located at 501 Foster Street in The Pavilion at Durham Central Park. 

Parking can be found on the street around the market, in the parking lot on the corner of Hunt and Foster Street (across from Rise Durham and Urban Durham Realty), in the Ballpark Parking Lot on Corporation Street, and in the Measurement Inc. lot, 423 Morris Street (look for the Durham Farmers' Market parking sign). Handicapped parking is available near the corner of Hunt and Foster as detailed in the map above.

There are also public parking lots along Foster Street and on Morgan Street near the Carolina Theatre.

Please note that the Durham Farmers' Market does not allow dogs or other pets in the market area during market hours. Service animals are exempt from this rule. Leashed pets are welcome elsewhere throughout Durham Central Park.

OOOOOOoooooo! Things are getting spooky around here. Mist in the morning hoop houses, spider webs and sacs adorn the dying basils and bop us in the heads as we clear beds for new plantings. New Seasonal Release: Scarlet

Just in time for Halloween, we’re bringing back a seasonal cider that’s sure to warm your soul and spice up your fall nights. This limited re-release is packed with baking spices that hit like a cozy blanket on a crisp evening.

We start with local, tree-ripe apples and then we throw in red grape skins for that deep, rich color and complexity. From there, it’s a mad dash of allspice, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger root, star anise, and a hint of orange peel that’ll make you feel like you’re sitting next to a roaring fire, even if you’re just hanging out on your front porch.

At Isaac's Bagels, we make bagels the old-fashioned way: by hand.

Isaac began his journey in his home kitchen in 2021, perfecting his bagel recipe through dedication and a lot of spreadsheets. CHAPEL HILL CREAMERY

Semi-ripe New Moon, shown above will be available this weekend, as well as Danziger cheese, Dairyland Famers, Hot Farmers, Dill Farmers, Carolina Moon, savory Hickory Grove, and Calvander. 

Carolina Moon is our version of Camembert which we age for several weeks. New Moon, in a button size, is less aged with a flaky texture and the fresh flavor of our rich milk. Serve it with our more aged cheeses for a party or by itself with a serving of savory squash soup.

Danziger is back and we will have samples. Our current batch is fairly mild but with the distinctive punch of a washed rind cheese. Bring it to room temperature and serve with apples or pears and toasted nuts. Feel free to ask us for serving and cooking suggestions for our other cheeses. Our Jersey cows are pasture raised with rotational grazing. The herd is Animal Welfare Approved.

** FARM NEWS:   

On Monday earlier in the week, our team from Meadow Lane Farm was so excited to be recognized by Commissioner of Agriculture, Steve Troxler, at the "Century Farm" event during the State Fair.  It was great to see so many other farm families getting recognized also.  Hope we can  continue for another 100-years! 

The peanuts have been dug and vines/nuts flipped to be dried by the sun.  They should be great to be roasted in the oven soon.   The tedious job of planting strawberries began today. We hope to have them all set out and watered by late tomorrow.

THE SPICY HERMIT


The Spicy Hermit makes delicious varieties of gluten-free, vegan, and preservative-free kimchi, using local produce from neighboring farms (some of them at the market!).  Kimchi is a traditional Korean fermented dish, usually made with cabbages, though we like to experiment and use other seasonal, local vegetables, such as collard greens or kohlrabi.
