CHAPEL HILL CREAMERY

Celebrating the amazing variety of tomatoes and summer produce? We will have Fresh Mozzarella for Caprese salad with basil, and some Ciliegine (cherry Mozzarella) for skewers with cherry tomatoes or for snacking. Dairyland Farmers pictured above is tangy and moist for watermelon salad, tacos, pasta salad, and tomato sandwiches.

Other cheeses are Hot Farmers, Dill Farmers, Grating Cheese, Hickory Grove, Calvander, Carolina Moon, and New Moon buttons. The watermelon salad above was a quick part of lunch with cilantro from the refrigerator, plus salt. Try this with green onion, cucumbers, or black olives as well. Make a batch of ratatouille chopped small and add farmers cheese at the table or melt our Mozzarella over toast with ratatouille made with eggplant, zucchini, and tomatoes..

We're expecting another calf any day and there is a cute video of our calves on Facebook or Instagram.  Our Jersey herd is Animal Welfare Approved, our milk is A2A2, and we practice rotational grazing.

SPECKLED BIRD FARM

Speckled Bird Farm is located in the rural northern part of Durham county.

The farm has been a proud member of the Durham Farmers Market since 2006, and is currently selling farm and nature related crafts, plants and cut flowers.

Come check out our painted Gourd birdhouses, or take home a pre-drilled one to paint yourself.

STONEY MOUNTAIN FARM

Stoney Mountain Farm raises their lambs the old fashioned way, allowing their sheep to graze open pastures. They are passionate about animal welfare and sustainability, and strive to be good stewards of the land. Their grazing system helps to keep the sheep on fresh grass year-round while helping to keep the soil healthy. 

Olga and John raise Navajo Churro sheep, which Slow Food named to it’s Ark of Taste based on the valuable traits of the breed. Navajo Churro genetics are smaller framed yet produce tender, lean, distinctive sweet flavored meat. The breed is endangered because they won’t meet the demands of commodity meats. They also raise Dorset and Corriedale sheep. They are proud to offer quality products from healthy, happy sheep.

Our hand-dyed T-shirts are soft, but these 5-ounce jersey cotton skirts are softer. We do them in a variety of bright colors, the effect of seeing all of them hanging on the rack is that of soft, flexible Easter eggs. The skirt’s asymmetrical hem gives it a kind of mischievous flare, and the elastic waistband means you can spend a day at the beach, take it out of your bag, and slip it over your suit for a dinner at a nice restaurant.
