  • Bklyn Vegan Bakery

Bklyn Vegan Bakery (formerly Crumbs) produces handcrafted vegan pastries and desserts. All baked goods are made with organic, local, and seasonal ingredients.

  • Bluebird Meadows

Stuart and Alice White love the environment and choose to farm sustainably, with as minimal an impact on the environment as possible. They do not use synthetic fertilizers or chemicals. Instead, they use lots of compost (worm castings are considered ‘black gold’ among farming enthusiasts), leaf mulch, and cover crops to keep their soil healthy and their biodiversity up. They also hope to incorporate aspects of permaculture on their farm, creating a healthy, closed system with as little outsourcing for material and soil amendments as possible.

Bluebird Meadows offers Wednesday home delivery within a 5 mile radius of Downtown Durham ($30 minimum and $5 delivery fee) in addition to Saturday pick up at market (order before Friday morning, no minimum). Pre-order here.

  • Bonlee Grown Farm

Bonlee Grown Farm will be there this upcoming Saturday as always! We’ll have lots of jams and pickles for you to pick from — jalapeño apricot, triple berry, pepper jelly, pickled okra, and more! — as well as some beautiful, 'bout-to-bloom amaryllis bulbs of a variety of colors. Preorder from the information below, and thank you for shopping local!

  • Botanist & Barrel

We're feeling spring and running a little promo with one of our go-to spring sippers:

    DeFi Piquette Rouge
Piquette Style Red Spritz | made with NC Montepulciano and Merlot grapes
    Light, Juicy, Chillable

The rebel child of wine. This spritz flips the script. It is fruity without the fluff, light but not a lightweight, bold yet playful.

Chill it, spritz it, and let it do its thing.

Buy 2 Get 1 Free!!! This discount also applies to The Rose Spritzer AND the White Spritzer!!

Botanist and Barrel is two families tied by food, laughter, and a stubborn belief that wine should tell a story about where it’s from. So we started making our own — wines that taste like our South. Fresh, real, born of local fruit and shared moments.
Turns out, we weren’t the only ones thirsty for that. What began as a dream became a gathering place for friends, neighbors, and anyone who believes in flavor that speaks of land and people.

Botanist & Barrel isn’t just a winery. It’s a celebration of family, community, and the wild generosity of the South. Come raise a glass with us and taste what home feels like.

  • Boxcarr Cheese

We take inspiration from small Italian farmstead creameries. Our local milk is sourced from a few small family-owned dairies who raise their cows with the greatest of care and highest standards. Milk from our own loved herd of mixed-breed dairy goats is also part of the mix! In addition to supporting these small dairy businesses, we employ a handful of locals, teach through internships, and employ youth through Orange County Second Family Foundation.

We distribute our artisan cheeses nationally, while also selling locally to restaurants, shops, and directly to shoppers at the Durham Farmers Market.

Our dedication to family, hard work, and great food are the soul of Boxcarr Farms and Boxcarr Handmade Cheese. We hope you’ll taste that in every bite.

  • By the Brook Ferments

By The Brook Ferments, based in Saxapahaw, handcrafts seasonal fermented foods including sauerkrauts, hot sauces, condiments, and soy-free tempeh, which is a highly digestible plant protein made from beans. Our goal is to funk up your table with flavor: specifically, the unique flavors that result from the magic of fermentation.

Our offerings include marinated tempeh burgers, seasonal sauerkrauts like beetroot peppercorn and turnip chive, and our famous chili crisp. Each offering is uniquely its own, and we hope that each nuance opens you up to the possibilities of what fermented foods can do for you, gut and taste buds alike. We are always building relationships and exploring new flavor combinations. There are endless possibilities and we take pride in sharing these gifts with anyone willing to try.

  • Celebrity Dairy

Following time-honored French farmstead techniques, Celebrity Dairy transforms goat’s milk into fresh goat cheese, or chèvre. Simply put, Celebrity Dairy’s chèvre is an honest expression of owners Brit and Flemming, of their farm, and of their place in time.

Like many specialty farm products, their cheese is fragile, and suffers from the abuses of shipping. They honor their cheese’s distinctive qualities by selling locally, thereby allowing them to hand deliver directly to their customers at local farmers’ markets, area restaurants that proudly feature it on their menus, and select local grocery stores.

None of this occurs in a vacuum: Celebrity Dairy is an integral part of Chatham County’s vigorous and growing low impact, sustainable agriculture community that produces high quality seasonal farm products in and for the Piedmont region. Brit and Flemming encourage and advise other cheesemakers in North Carolina, and work with the NC Ag Extension Service on conserving small family farms. On a broader scale, they support the American Cheese Society and the Slow Foods movement.

Celebrity Dairy practices low impact, sustainable farming.

  • Cilantro Artisan Foods

Cilantro was inspired by friendship and love for Mexican food. Long time friends Maria Pacheco and Martha Arango met in Durham, NC and started a journey through food flavors imported from Mexico and Colombia with a background of Rancheras and good tequila.

After constantly feeling homesick, Maria, a Guanajuato – Mexico transplant, created Cilantro’s unique menu by bringing her childhood flavors to North Carolina. Martha has always had a passion for Mexican food and culture and her graphic design background made her the perfect partner to join Maria in creating Cilantro Artisan Foods.

  • Family & Future

Steven Lambeth of Family & Future makes wholesome treats you can feel good about bringing home to your family. My primary product lines are nut butters and chocolates, all of which are organic, dairy free, sweetened without cane sugar, and made completely from scratch. I started this business so I could still eat sweets while on a restricted diet and I have grown my business with a vision of both supporting the family my wife and I are trying to start and wanting to align my business with a more sustainable future. I only use fair-trade cacao to support more ethical food systems and, when possible, I use compostable or reusable packaging to help minimize the waste my business creates.

  • Full Flower Herbs

    Hey folks,
Can you believe it?! Spring is springing?!! Spring is traditionally a time for spring cleansing and spring tonics. A time to eat fresh greens and spring weeds and drink teas and tonics of spring cleansing herbs, to encourage the flow of the lymph, and support the body’s elimination of toxins. Y’all know how good it feels to live and eat seasonally. So this week we are featuring spring tonics.

    SPRING FOR SPRING TONICS

Happy Liver, Clear Skin - Alterative roots burdock, yellow dock, herbaceous cleavers, and calendula flower synergize to support elimination and cleanse the blood. Diuretic cleavers encourage the release of toxins through the urine, and burdock, calendula and cleavers also support blood cleansing via the lymph. Stick with this for a month and you will see skin problems improve.

Clean Up Crew - The Clean Up Crew is here to help cleanse and circulate the blood, helping to reduce inflammation, while tickling your taste buds. A sweet and zesty blend in honey and vinegar, the crew consists of turmeric, stinging nettle, burdock, and chipotle pepper.

Fair Fight Allergy Tonic - A blend of herbs to prepare your body's defenses for seasonal allergies, made with fresh local NC herbs stinging nettle, turmeric, burdock, and mullein, with Organic reishi mushroom. These herbs work together by means of supporting elimination, strengthening and supporting both the respiratory and immune systems, and modulating inflammation.

Breast Oil - Formulated to remedy inflammation in breast tissue, as well as support breast health, this infused oil can also be used externally on lymph nodes to support lymphatic flow and health. We have infused sustainably grown calendula flower and wild violet leaf and flower and poke root in Organic olive oil.

Cleavers Tincture - Juicy, fresh, the taste of spring itself, I would argue, (especially as a fresh cold infusion!) cleavers are a blood cleansing tonic, useful with swollen glands, UTIs, and skin conditions. On sale 15% off just for this week!

Dandelion Tincture - A blood cleansing liver tonic and diuretic.

AS ALWAYS Many of our extracts are crafted fresh from our garden and local farms. Check out our website fullflowerherbs.com, where you can purchase bulk sizes of 4 oz and 8 oz and find detailed info on our products. Join our newsletter for updates.

Order online for pick up at market or at our apothecary near the School of Science and Math.  To pick up at market, mention this in the Order Special Instructions section and select “Pick up in store” at checkout.

  • Harland's Creek Farm

The Alston-Degraffenried House, a national historic site, is on the farm and was built in 1810. Because of this long history, Harland’s Creek Farm focuses on native and heirloom varieties of plants. Many of the flower bouquets they make could have been in someone’s parlor in the 1800s.

When Judy Lessler first moved there in the 1970’s, kudzu covered the yard and fields and was growing onto the porch of the house. After clearing, she discovered an old fruit and flower garden to the east of the house. In the fall of 2001, she built a parterre on the site of this old garden, using a plan that was inspired by drawings of 18th century gardens. Flowers and decorative shrubs are grown in the parterre.

Today, Judy, Erasmo and Rene have 5 acres under production and are divided into three plots that have been opened successively over time since 2001. They grow our own transplants. Soil amendments include compost, feather meal, rock phosphate, sulfate of potash, bone meal, lime, or manure. Mulching and cover crops are used to build the soil. Pest management includes 6-8 foot fences to keep deer out, row-covers and flash tape to deter birds and rabbits, and occasionally we use OMRI approved substances for control of pests. Post-harvest handling consists of cold storage in an on farm walk in cooler. Flowers are conditioned using either Vita Products, Inc. or their own on farm mixture using substances that are compliant with the National Organic Program Standards.

As well as selling at the Saturday and Wednesday markets, Harland’s Creek Farm offers a CSA pick-up at each of these locations. These CSAs are operated with other farmers who sell at the Durham Farmers’ Market. Harland’s Creek Farm is certified organic.

The farm is now offering the ability to pre-order farm products. Please email the farm at hcffamers@gmail.com to find out availability and pricing for CSA boxes and options for delivery and pick-up.

  • Ninth Street Bakery

Determined to change the bread landscape, Ninth Street Bakery was founded by two brothers in 1981 fresh from a stint baking at the Tassajara Zen Center with monk Ed Espe Brown. They brought with them recipes for wholegrain goodness and a mind for doing good works in Durham. Known by many for its seeded sliced pan loaves, NSB now has crusty artisan bread products that burst with the flavors of natural levain, and flaky pastries that slow rise to perfection. Helmed by baker Ari Berenbaum

Since 2013, NSB sits at Five Points in Durham, an anchor business in an ever-changing city. We have a full service café, as well as a robust wholesale program that covers the Triad from Greensboro to Raleigh, Durham to Chapel Hill and Carrboro. We give back to the community via our Bakery- and donor-supported Durham Neighbors program, an in-house experiment in Universal Basic Income whereby we Cashapp 100+ low-income local families every month $50 which goes to much-needed groceries, utility bills, or diapers. We are psyched to be now an official member of the Durham Farmer’s Market, joining an illustrious crew of artisans and purveyors who are dedicated to local, independent, small business, and Southern gastronomical culture.

The nutrition mix is a blend of broccoli, cabbage, and kohlrabi microgreens, while the salad mix is a blend of sunflower shoots, buckwheat, and kale microgreens. • Sarah's House of Clay

    SECONDS SALE

    What’s a second?

Sometimes it’s obvious - a crack where the rim pulled open in the firing, an underdeveloped glaze, a bit of junk stuck in the glaze, the pot ‘kissed by the kiln’.

Sometimes it’s subtle - a little lumpiness, a less graceful curve.

Sometimes it just doesn’t play well with my other pots.

    $10/pound

Catch a bargain for your table.

Help me make room for new wares.

Wishing us all strong community and random kindnesses.

  • The Spicy Hermit

The Spicy Hermit makes delicious varieties of gluten-free, vegan, and preservative-free kimchi, using local produce from neighboring farms (some of them at the market!).  Kimchi is a traditional Korean fermented dish, usually made with cabbages, though we like to experiment and use other seasonal, local vegetables, such as collard greens or kohlrabi.

It’s cabbage and kimchi okonomiyaki time! Use up the spring veggies to make these: https://bit.ly/4dnVveP

This week we’ll bring these kimchi varieties:

GREENS- Napa, green cabbage, collard greens, bok choy, mustard greens, radish greens

ROOTS- radish, turnip, kohlrabi carrot, beet

SEASONAL- winter squash (limited quantities), rutabaga carrot (NEW!)

  • Stoney Mountain Farm

Spring is off to a busy start here at Stoney Mountain Farm with lambing and shearing. Despite the busyness, we’ve taken some time to create new felted wool projects inspired by the season. Our felting kits are getting a refresh, so be sure to come check them out! This will make an excellent activity during spring break and the Easter holiday season.

In addition to our regular wool and lanolin products, we will have beautiful lamb and mutton sausages, loin chops, and stew meat available this week.

We also wanted to share a bit more about our process. As with many livestock farms, the most popular cuts often sell first, leaving us with an abundance of items like bones. To ensure you always receive the highest quality lamb, we have a standing promise never to keep anything in our freezers for more than three months. If it doesn’t sell within that time, we donate it. That is our commitment to you and to the integrity of our products.

Be sure to follow us on Instagram or Facebook to stay up to date on all our upcoming events.

    Best regards,
    Audra Just

  • Terra Clotha

This week, Terra Clotha will have a scratch and dent sale.  There aren’t going to be very many scratches, and it’s really hard to dent soft fabric. So these will be metaphorical scratches and dents. We dye a lot of fabric, and we usually get the result that we’re going for.  But sometimes the color is just not right. Often it’s possible to overdye and get an even better color.  But occasionally, the color is a dud and nothing will save it. Or we affix the design crookedly.  Or the silkscreen dye goes into places that it shouldn’t.  Things happen.  For adult T-shirts (usually $25), at this sale, we’re asking $10. For kids’ T-shirts (usually $20), at this sale, we’re asking $5. Or make us an offer we can’t refuse. We'll have some hats. totes, and scarves as well. Each one of a kind, all sales final, etc., etc. PLEASE NOTE: This sale does not apply to everything at our booth. We will still have some of our regular stock, and the scratch-and-dent sale will end when we run out of sale items. The early bird get the (metaphorical) worm.
