Botanist & Barrel
Dry January, Our Way
When people talk about Dry January, they usually mean no alcohol. For us, dry means something a little different — ciders fermented all the way through, with no residual sugar left behind. Crisp, lean, and food-friendly, our ciders are made to finish dry on purpose.
We create structured, expressive ciders that let fruit, fermentation, and time do the talking. If you’re easing off drinking this month, being more intentional with what’s in your glass, or simply craving something clean and balanced, dry cider belongs in the conversation.
Come taste what dry can mean — honest fermentation, no shortcuts, and ciders that stand comfortably on their own.

Boxcarr Cheese
We take inspiration from small Italian farmstead creameries. Our local milk is sourced from a few small family-owned dairies who raise their cows with the greatest of care and highest standards. Milk from our own loved herd of mixed-breed dairy goats is also part of the mix! In addition to supporting these small dairy businesses, we employ a handful of locals, teach through internships, and employ youth through Orange County Second Family Foundation.
We distribute our artisan cheeses nationally, while also selling locally to restaurants, shops, and directly to shoppers at the Durham Farmers Market.
Our dedication to family, hard work, and great food are the soul of Boxcarr Farms and Boxcarr Handmade Cheese. We hope you’ll taste that in every bite.

Celebrity Dairy
Following time-honored French farmstead techniques, Celebrity Dairy transforms goat’s milk into fresh goat cheese, or chèvre. Simply put, Celebrity Dairy’s chèvre is an honest expression of owners Brit and Flemming, of their farm, and of their place in time.
Like many specialty farm products, their cheese is fragile, and suffers from the abuses of shipping. They honor their cheese’s distinctive qualities by selling locally, thereby allowing them to hand deliver directly to their customers at local farmers’ markets, area restaurants that proudly feature it on their menus, and select local grocery stores.
None of this occurs in a vacuum: Celebrity Dairy is an integral part of Chatham County’s vigorous and growing low impact, sustainable agriculture community that produces high quality seasonal farm products in and for the Piedmont region. Brit and Flemming encourage and advise other cheesemakers in North Carolina, and work with the NC Ag Extension Service on conserving small family farms. On a broader scale, they support the American Cheese Society and the Slow Foods movement.
Celebrity Dairy practices low impact, sustainable farming.

Cilantro Artisan Foods
Cilantro was inspired by friendship and love for Mexican food. Long time friends Maria Pacheco and Martha Arango met in Durham, NC and started a journey through food flavors imported from Mexico and Colombia with a background of Rancheras and good tequila.
After constantly feeling homesick, Maria, a Guanajuato – Mexico transplant, created Cilantro’s unique menu by bringing her childhood flavors to North Carolina. Martha has always had a passion for Mexican food and culture and her graphic design background made her the perfect partner to join Maria in creating Cilantro Artisan Foods.

Honeygirl Meadery
Honeygirl Meadery is Durham’s first meadery, and they make meads to celebrate nature and the work of honeybees. Mead is an ancient alcoholic beverage, made by fermenting honey, water and yeast, often with added fruits, herbs and spices. Their meads are made with a modern cook’s perspective, with fresh local seasonal fruits, flowers, herbs and honey. Fermented for at least 90 days, and sometimes aged for almost a year, their menu of meads changes seasonally. Check our website for the latest releases.
Made in downtown Durham NC, Honeygirl meads are hand-crafted in small batches, using all natural ingredients. They use honey from reputable sources both near and far, including NC honey whenever supplies are abundant. They emphasize local whenever possible, including sourcing fruit from NC farms and corks from Zebulon, NC.
They offer a variety of meads, from dry to slightly sweet. They like to explore all the nuances of flavor that happen when honey is fermented into mead. By using wildflower honey in most of the meads, we get to experience all the places that the bees visited. Each mead is truly unique and reflects the terroir of the areas the bees foraged.

Lil' Farm
Hello from Lil' Farm. We are spending some sweet time warping days and nights with our new Lil' one, Orla Green. In full, Orla Alethia Green Doyle. We are lost in love. Orla was born December 8th on a cold flurry day. She is a wonder. We are excited for her to be a part of our warm farmers market community. Thank you to all who have sent love and baby gear, and well wishes, food and support. We couldn't do any of this without y'all. And we absolutely could not keep the farm running without our amazing friends and workers, Nat and Izzy. They have taken over the farm beautifully and given George and I a true cozy and calm time with Orla in so many ways. Please say thanks to those two at the market. They are such clever problem solvers and hard working, thoughtful farmers.
Here is me taking a stab at what you will see at the market this week: Carrots, Cabbage, Collards, Brussel Sprouts, Kale, Pumpkins, Sweet Potatoes, Daikon, Hakurai Turnips, Watermelon Radish, Scarlet Turnips, Beets, and a variety of other greenery. Come and git it.
Oh, and! Our Spring/ Summer CSA SIGN UP is open on our website www.lilfarm.com. You can see all of our pick up and delivery options and also ways to donate our food to those who need it. Check it out and feel free to ask all about the CSA at market.
LOVE!
Lily and George and Orla!

Mu Ta Ka Paw
Since childhood, Tri Sa has been passionate about growing produce and flowers. After fleeing war-torn Burma, she relocated to Chapel Hill in 2007 to build a new life.
Two years later, her passion for farming was reignited when she joined Transplanting Traditions, a community farm that helps migrant refugees from the Thailand-Burma border adopt a pesticide-free farming approach.
Since 2009, the family-owned Mu Ta Ka Paw Garden has been serving the local community at the Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market and the Carrboro Farmers’ Market, offering a CSA pick-up at both locations.
Mu Ta Ka Paw Garden currently cultivates flowers and grows a variety of vegetables, including Asian greens such as fresh ginger, bitter melon, bok choy, yu choy, gai lan, and water spinach (morning glory), among others. -

Ninth Street Bakery
Determined to change the bread landscape, Ninth Street Bakery was founded by two brothers in 1981 fresh from a stint baking at the Tassajara Zen Center with monk Ed Espe Brown. They brought with them recipes for wholegrain goodness and a mind for doing good works in Durham. Known by many for its seeded sliced pan loaves, NSB now has crusty artisan bread products that burst with the flavors of natural levain, and flaky pastries that slow rise to perfection. Helmed by baker Ari Berenbaum
Since 2013, NSB sits at Five Points in Durham, an anchor business in an ever-changing city. We have a full service café, as well as a robust wholesale program that covers the Triad from Greensboro to Raleigh, Durham to Chapel Hill and Carrboro. We give back to the community via our Bakery- and donor-supported Durham Neighbors program, an in-house experiment in Universal Basic Income whereby we Cashapp 100+ low-income local families every month $50 which goes to much-needed groceries, utility bills, or diapers. We are psyched to be now an official member of the Durham Farmer’s Market, joining an illustrious crew of artisans and purveyors who are dedicated to local, independent, small business, and Southern gastronomical culture.
You can follow us at Instagram.com/ninthstreetbakery or read Ari’s musings on bread and Durham at blog.ninthstbakery.com.

Microgreens are great because they're beautiful, tasty, and packed with nutrients. We will be bringing the following microgreens to the market: sunflower shoots, pea shoots, nutrition mix, salad mix, a farmer's choice, and a few specialty varieties, like cilantro, dill, and onion! The nutrition mix is a blend of broccoli, cabbage, and kohlrabi microgreens, while the salad mix is a blend of sunflower shoots, buckwheat, and kale microgreens.
